Barcelona

Barcelona was beautiful and not what I had expected. I was overwhelmed with the sheer beauty of this city. Despite flying with easy jet or should I say crap jet and being delayed by 3 hours I made it to my cousin Alice's apartment. I made it to Barcelona with perfect timing as a bit of a fluke, I had made it in the prime of the merce festival.

My first day was lovely, we walked around the city, watched the people building, the circus, ate tapas and got the subway around Barcelona. A couple of days later I met up with an old friend who happened to be in Barcelona and had the most amazing time just laying on the beach with not a care in the world. We went site seeing and walked all over Barcelona. Pre drinks before going out were spent with fresh prawns, bruschetta and sangria. This life style I could seriously get used to.

The lanes in Barcelona become dangerous late at night and I was warned not to walk alone. I kept to my promise but on the way back from a club one night where I literally had to walk the space of 5 houses down from the taxi to where I was staying and could see a man instantly start to follow me. It could of ended nasty. Luckily a few sangrias kept me calm, I opened the door, slammed it and found this man outside the door.. Close call. And a reminder that I'm not so invincible.

My last night was wonderful! Alice's house mates took me out to a comedy club night, we went to bars and ate the best tapas I had eaten on my trip, I wish I could remember the name but it was literally stumbled upon within the lanes. The next day Alice met me after her English class and we went to the local supermarket, got supply's and walked to the park de guel?.. For a picnic lunch. It was a perfect ending to a perfect trip to Europe. Alice is a beautiful lady that I admire greatly. It's people like this I'm glad to have in my life.
