During the start of my trip I was contacted by a instagood who featured a photo of mine in return I was going to run instameets around America on my trip. I decided to host one in San Francisco. An 'instameet' is where 'grammers' walk and take photos.
It was an awesome day, my friend Brock picked me up and we drove to the meet. I told people about my travels and how I'm going place to place in hopes of building a stronger community of instagramers. It was something that was very different for a lot of people. It only took a few days into my trip to make me realize the way I used Instagram chad changed from photo sharing, getting likes and followers, to building a genuine community.
I particularly had a few people stick out from me a couple of guys called Kevin and Joe and a girl called Kirsten who had been traveling around the states taking photos doing something very very similar to me. They had the same values and it was great to see how happy they were. I also had Jeffrey who is on the community team at instagram turn up. I told him my story and he gave me his card. It was an exciting day of opportunity and meeting amazing creative locals from the bay. I felt very honored to have 60+ people attend.
